MOON ASTROLOGY for MARCH 2021
As we move into March, the FULL MOON in Virgo/Pisces of February 27 continues to fuel our imagination and creativity, encouraging us to balance innovative ideas with practical, concrete ways of implementing them. During Pisces (Feb.18-March 19) which is ruled by the planet Neptune, we may feel spacey and unclear. Allow your inner Mermaid/Merman to swim in the nebulous energies--creating, healing, renewing and feeling a deeper sense of Oneness with all.
The Tibetan Goddess Tara asks us to ground, center and align our body, mind and spirit every day, staying present to what we need! This last month of Winter is a time to dream, contemplate and envision what we would like to see grow and bloom in the Spring. Spend time in nature, connect with Mother Earth, take care of yourself--physically, emotionally, spiritually. Be gentle with yourself! We are not quite ready to push forward. Acknowledge your need for quiet time and perhaps for more rest and sleep as you integrate the insights and energies, both conscious and unconscious from this full moon period.
Use those insights to re-examine, re-think and revise your thoughts, plans and possessions. Use the energy of the last week of the moon cycle (March 6-12) to get that cleaning out done! Get rid of, release, whatever is not supporting who you are today--possessions, beliefs, people, you job--whatever....Once we are fully out of Mercury Retrogrades shadow after the New Moon on the 13th, you will feel any fogginess lift as clarity and motivation begin to take over.
Winter is an inward, resting time; Mercury in Retrograde is an inward, re-evaluating time but now, we are heading towards Spring. The NEW MOON in Pisces on March 13 is a powerful seeding point for the season ahead. Utilize The 7 Day New Moon Ceremony that we shared last month to anchor your vision.
A week later with the SPRING EQUINOX on March 20, the energy begins to shift as we move into the East on the Medicine Wheel of the Year. Akin to the sunrise, it is a time of new beginnings, governed by the AIR element--a perfect time to use your breath with yogic and other breathing techniques to clear, align and strengthen your body, mind and spirit. Notice the shift in energy as the days pass. Here is a beautiful invocation for this changing of the season from Everyday Moon Magic by Dorothy Morrison.
"As the Earth is in sprouting mode, Mother so dear, let me too, germinate--cast off my fear--Encourage fresh sprouting in my heart and soul so I quickly grow past what is useless and old. And tend the new sprouts of growth and perspective with fresh inspiration and a creative directive. Fill my life with Seed Moon energy for I wish to grow; as I will, it shall be."
On the Equinox on March 21, we also move in the Fire sign of ARIES (March 20-April 19). Cerridwen, the Welsh Goddess of death and rebirth speaks to us during Aries, asking us to notice what is dying and in need of letting go so that something new can be born. The cycles of life--the seasons, the moon cycle, our life cycle and our yearly cycles all are a dance of new beginnings, growth, release, letting go and rebirth. Honor that which is ready to die in your life and in our world. In this powerful time of both global and personal transformation, flow with the cycles of life with an open mind and heart. What blessings will the next cycle bring?
